Its been years since I posted something here.

I cut my hair. its short short. Also, its blond. I'm going through a midlife crisis, or somesuch.

My manager is on a leave of absence, so I'm the boss at the salon. This makes me giggle uncontrollably. That is, when I'm not wanting to bitchslap some of the stylists. I don't want to be a manager of a salon I don't I don't.

My plan to move back to Tulsa keeps moving. Maybe next year? Thing is, as much as I hate the things I hate about this place, I've made some really great friends. And I"m starting to build a life here.

But then, my sister texted me to say that my ridiculously adorable nephew took his first steps last night.
And I'm missing all of that.

He was a decent guy. I always enjoyed seeing him. I'm going to miss seeing him around while in Tulsa.

Its entirely possible that I'm moving to Virginia by the end of the month. Its entirely possible that I got a job at a well established, Zagat rated, 4 diamond AAA rated, Uber-upscale restaurant. Its entirely possible that they're actually going to be paying me what I'm worth.

Its also entirely possible that I'm a big stupid failure, and didn't get the job.

Tulsa was awesome. the weather was great, blah blah blah. I hated coming back here. The more I think about it, the more I don't like it here.

I'm trying to find a way to come visit George and Derek, so I can be in the loop like everyone else.

So, I quit my job. I'll give you an update when I figure out how thats working out for me.

That shooting in Kansas City, at the Target? killed 2 people there, and his neighbor, then "borrowed" at least one of the neighbors dead husbands guns to kill other people, and used her car to drive to the Target and start shooting it up? Turns out I knew the shooter. In fact, I considered him a friend at one time while living in KC. Shock of the fucking century.

Going to Tulsa in 2 weeks to meet my nephew. See my friends. I won't see you guys, though ,and that makes me sad.

My allergies are out of control. Living with 2 cats is not helping whatsoever. Even the drugs aren't working anymore. This sucks.

Other than that, I'm doing well. :)

They're having a grand ol' time in Chapel Hill, and I miss them terribly. But they ask me questions, and I have to answer.

1. Seeing as you are a licensed hair dresser, have you ever cut your own hair? And we're not just talking about back when you were 7 years old & you tried to trim your bangs by yourself. Everybody did that.

Yes. I've given myself layers many a time. And back when I was a rebellious teenager, I shaved the bottom half of my head all by myself. But the full haircut, I can only remember doing once, and that was 3 days before I was going to London. I wanted to do something different with my hair, and no one I worked with wanted to cut my hair. So I did it myself. I wanted it to look piece-y and uneven, and it certainly did, but not in a good way. Plus, I ended up cutting it alot shorter than I had intended. I didn't want to go to London with short hair, but there ya go. I guess it didn't look too bad, looking back at pictures. But at the time, I was an unhappy camper. And this is when I realized that I can't cut my own hair, and shouldn't even try. Except for bangs. And layers.

2. How long do you think you could go without saying The F Word in any form - verbal, written, sign language, etc. No substitutions like "frickin" are allowed, either.

Oh, dear. I can go without dropping the f-bomb all day if I have an f-bomb-like word to use. Hm. I suppose if I needed to, I could go a couple days. But after the couple days were over, I'd go into a Tourettes like f-bombing, and then all would be well with the world again.

3. If you could create your dream lipstick, what would it be like? What would you name it?

I'm always searching for the perfect lipstick. I did have it once, and wouldn't you know, I made it myself? cheap red lipstick, red, black, and brown powder food coloring. Srsly, I rule. but as for finding it in a tube, it has to be a deep red, with no hint of orange or pink. It can't be too bright. It can't be too purple. It has to be a true red, but deep and a bit dark. But not burgundy. I'll know it when I see it.
And if I made it, it would be called "Sexed Up". Yeah. Because red lips like THAT are all about bringing the sexy back. Aw yeah.

4. What animals of the household pet variety are you NOT allergic to? Would you like to have any of them in your house?

Well, if it has fur, I'm allergic. Which means I'm not terribly allergic to snakes and lizards. But I have no desire to have a pet snake, or pet lizard, thankyouverymuch.
Isn't sad how I'm allergic to all the cute, fun things?

5. What's the best thing you've ever inherited? Note that the person does not have to be a relative; nor must they be dead.

Definitely Babushka. The weird looking Papier-mâché bag lady thing George gave me when her and Derek moved out of the apartment by the highway. I love that thing so much, and I can't for the life of me explain why. I remember going over to the apartment, and just staring at the thing, picking it up, Whatever. Its creepy, kinda, and..and..its PAPIER MACHE, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. But its the best thing I've ever inherited. thanks George!

Noah Samuel Taylor was born April 10, 2007, at 10:22pm. He weighed in at 6.2 lbs, 22 inches long, and a head full of dark hair. He is, of course, gorgeous, and as soon as I can get the pictures, I'll post 'em. If you can't wait, go to www.hillcrest.com then go to the internet nursery, then put in april 10 2007 for the birth date, then look for Noah T. 4 pictures are there.

Melissa, my hardcore sister, after actually giving birth, then also cut the umbilical cord, because her hubby is a bit, shall we say, queasy.

My job sucks so much, I'm looking for another. No more hair. I hate people. I hate my co-workers. I'm not going to watch Shear Genius, because its all about fucking hairdressers!

Eh, thats a lie. I'm going to need some sort of Bravo reality show/contest to tide me over when Top Design is done and Project Runway is still a distant dream.

Speaking of Top Design...whats up with Kelly Wearstler's personal fashion sense? Every week, akin to watching a train wreck, I wait patiently to see what doGawful thing she's got on.

Anyway, about the job. I need to find one that allows me to do what I do best: bake. Fuck the "I'll work at the salon until the catering business gets going!" bullshit, because I don't see it happening any time in the near future. Which also pisses me off, but thats another tale. I'm resume-ing the land, in search of something I can do.

Can you tell I'm in a mood? Because I am.

not this past weekend, but the weekend before, I went to Washington DC (aka Mordor) to go goth clubbing with some new friends I found, who live in Virginia. I got a little lost finding the club, but I found it, and all was good. Then we went out for breakfast, and I followed them, and ate breakfast, and it was tasty, and then I tried to find my way home.
Yeah, that didn't work so well.
I drove around Mordor for 3 goddamn hours looking for some semblance of an exit. I, like Mary, when she got lost, didn't burst into tears, but did say "you've got to be kidding me" several times.
Mordor is a terrible city for driving. I mean, terrible, horrible, no good, very bad. I can't believe it took me 3 goddamn hours to find a way out. the sun was out by the time I got home. AND I had to work that day. Suck, yes.

Last weekend, I went back to Tulsa, for my sisters baby shower. She's due April 23, and she is so cute all preggers. Srsly. I will have a nephew soon!
And it was nice seeing Destiny and Corey, and Shawn, and other peeps. At the airport on the way back to Balto, I saw Don! He was on his way back to LA. Only in Tulsa, only in Tulsa..

Yesterday was the birthday of Richard Nixon (now deceased), Dave Matthews, Belle Starr (now deceased), Joan Baez, AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys, and me.

It was a pleasant birthday. My friends and I are playing an RPG called Champions. It is awesomely fun.

George sent me a cool card, and also some cool stuff around Giftmas. I'm such a crappy friend, and she is such an awesome friend.

My hair is nearly halfway down my back. Srsly! Its long!

Thats all I have right now. I'm exhausted.

Things are going a bit better here in Baltimore. I still hatehatehate my job, and I still have to buy a new car next month. But, I may be working freelance pastrylike for an already established catering company. That would be something, eh? Oh, that would be fantastic!

So, I have today, Friday off. I also have Saturday off. I also have Monday off. I do not have Sunday off. And this is why I'm spending December 25 here, while my housemates go to Virginia, and I am NOT going to Tulsa. Bah, humbug.

When George moved, I told her I'd get a blog on blogger.com, because thats where she is, and mary is here, too, and Derek. I do most of my blogging on Livejournal, but ya'll ain't there, so I intended to post occasionally over here, to keep you in the loop. And I have failed miserably, and for that I am sorry.

But now, I will post...something.

I think I like Baltimore. Some days, I like it better than others. I've made a few friends independent of the friends I already have, and thats cool. I've set a timeline for the start of the business- April 23rd, 2007. By then, I want us to have a kitchen, and all the licensing we need to be legal.

Speaking of April 23, my little sister is pregnant. She is due April 23. I'm very excited.

And in terms of the business, I'm selling cookies and candies for the Holiday season. 6 dollars a dozen for both cookies and candies, 4 dozen for $20. I'm also selling the yummirific Dipped Pretzel Rods. They are dipped in Caramel, then rolled in nuts (or not), then dipped in White or Milk Chocolate. Holy crap they're good. They're going for 75 cents each, or a dozen for Ten dollars. And I'm making bread- Banana, Lemon, Apple or Pumpkin. $8 a loaf, $4 for a mini loaf.

I'm probably undercharging for shipping, but this is my first time doing this, so its more of a test.

Sadly, I won't be going home for Thanksgiving, or for Christmas. I'll probably next be in Tulsa when my sister has the baby.

I got a job at a place called Haircuttery. I'm making decent money.

I went to Tulsa this past weekend for Destiny's wedding. That was very nice.

Corey quit smoking. yay Corey!

I saw my mom. My mom is nice.

I need a new car. My Stella is in her dying throes. its so sad to watch.

Therefore, I need approximately $15,000 for the Toyota Yaris. Or Honda Fit.

But mostly the Toyota Yaris. I <> the Toyota Yaris.

Soon, The business will commence. I keep saying that. Starting a business is hard. Especially when it involves food.

I miss you guys. George, Derek, when you move to Seattle, or Portland, I'd like to come visit you. Mary, you live close, I should come visit you soon. But after I get a new car. Because Stella wouldn't make it.

I'm going to miss my Stella.

I finally got my gorram cosmetology license. I'm not going to work at Regis, because its a 60 mile round trip on Baltimore Highway. So, I'm going to work at Great Clips. woo. thats with a lower case woo. Meh, its a job. I need a job. I'll get fundage. I need fundage.

I got a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. My housemate rules, because she paid for it. But now that I'm going to get fundage, I can pay back people I owe money to (that includes you, G&D).

I'm still a vegetarian. A whooooole week. Only 51 weeks left.

There are 52 weeks in a year, right?

This weekend, we start on the salsa. I told you about the salsa, didn't I?

If I didn't, well, we're going to make salsa (and jams, and pickled things, and glazes for meats)
and sell them at the farmers market. there is a year round farmers market here in Balmer.
Anyway, we're making 4 different heats: Sissy Salsa, City Slicker Salsa, Sizzlin Salsa, and Suicide by Salsa.

If I did already tell you that, well, I told you again. Deal.

Just an update

So, my friend and I are having serious talks about the business.

We're going to do a 'cheesecake of the month' club, selling online and shipping around the country. We're thinking $300(that includes shipping) for 12 cheesecakes, one a month. Probably an 8 inch, which will serve 8-10. Or 3, if George, Mary and I get together all depressed. :) Anyway, that breaks down to $40 a cheesecake, which is a damn good deal, considering shipping and whatnot.
We'll probably also do a bi-monthly delivery, or 3 month, for the weiners who can't shell out the dough. I'm also going to sell the cookies, candies, and jams on the website. So, when you want to send a nice gift to someone you like, you'll know where to go. :)

Right now, we're trying to figure out the licensing and finding a kitchen. Probably, we should be looking for money, too. I'm going to look into gov't loans for women starting a business. But we're going to make this happen.

I'm still not working, because my gorram cosmetology license still hasn't shown up. Blast and damn. I've been working at the Farmers Market on Saturdays for the Mushroom Lady, so I'm making a little money, but certainly not enough.

Also, I've gone vegetarian for a year. Just a year. I haven't gone crazy yet. But weirdly, I"m craving shellfish more than I am red meat. Hm.

Not really. Its just raining. Alot. I mean every day. Since I've been here. Thats alot.

My car is packed, very nearly to the gills. I got the oil changed, the tires rotated and all that various whatnot. Yesterday, I said goodbye to Tulsa, and headed east.

But I'm not completely east yet. I'm in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where my awesome mom lives. I'm staying here for a couple days, then headed to Baltimore.

Guess what my mom made me for dinner last night, my first night here! a T-Bone steak! Cooked just as I like it, rarerarerare. See, I told you my mom was awesome.

Today, we made strawberry jam, and managed not to kill each other, which really, is a good thing.

Wednesday, probably, I'll jump in my car, and say goodbye to the Central Time zone. In my whole adult life, I've never moved out of the Central Time Zone. This is a big step for me, folks.

I just hope I'm ready for it.

I work with a very stupid girl. she doesn't want to see the DaVinci Code, because she doesn't want see any movie that might 'shake her faith'. Because her faith is apparently not strong enough to withstand a friggin movie. Seriously, if you don't want to see the movie, thats cool. But giving a dumbass reason just pisses me off.

I did go out for sushi tonight, at Asahi, which has half price sushi, so I got 5 rolls (I was hungry!) and only payed $13. Seriously. I love that place, now that I'm leaving Tulsa.
